Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has approved the construction of a new access road to the permanent site of the Federal Polytechnic Ohodo, in a move aimed at improving infrastructure and accessibility to the institution.

The project is expected to ease transportation challenges faced by students, staff and visitors while also accelerating development around the institution located in Ohodo, a community in Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area.

According to state officials, the access road will enhance connectivity between the polytechnic and surrounding communities, making it easier for academic activities and administrative operations to run smoothly.

The initiative is part of the state government’s broader plan to strengthen infrastructure and support educational development across Enugu State.

Residents and stakeholders in the area have welcomed the development, noting that improved road access will boost economic activities and encourage further investments in the host community.

The Federal Polytechnic Ohodo, one of Nigeria’s newer federal tertiary institutions, has continued to expand its facilities and academic programmes, and the construction of the access road is expected to further support its growth.
