APC Fixes March 25 for South-West Zonal Congress in Lagos

The All Progressives Congress (APC) opens up on its preparations for the South-West Zonal Congress scheduled to take place on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at the Onikan Stadium.

Isaacs Kekemeke, the South-West Zonal Chairman alongside Zonal Secretary Vincent Bewaji and Zonal Organising Secretary Lateef Ibirogba, called on delegates to arrive early and keep to the guidelines governing the exercise.

The party disclosed that the congress, slated to commence at 9:00 and the gathering will also serve as a platform to evaluate the party’s performance in the South-West, foster unity among stakeholders, and reposition the APC for improved electoral success.

Officials further outlined the categories of statutory delegates expected to participate, in accordance with Article 12.7 of the party’s constitution. These include current and former zonal chairmen, members of the zonal executive committee, serving and former governors from the region, as well as current and former members of the National Assembly.

Other delegates expected at the congress are serving and former principal officers of state Houses of Assembly, state party chairmen, members of the National Executive Committee (NEC), National Caucus members, and additional statutory delegates to the national convention.

The party assured members that adequate security and logistical arrangements have been put in place to accommodate the anticipated turnout. It added that coordination with relevant authorities is ongoing to ensure the exercise is conducted in a peaceful and orderly manner.

The leadership emphasised that the broad representation of delegates highlights the importance of the congress as a meeting point for key political figures, grassroots mobilisers, and institutional stakeholders across the region.

The South-West zone, which includes Lagos State, Ogun State, Oyo State, Osun State, Ondo State, and Ekiti State, remains a key stronghold for the ruling party.
