The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has released the official timetable for its 2026 nationwide congresses and national convention.
In a statement issued by the party, the ADC said the scheduled activities are part of its constitutional mandate to renew leadership structures at different levels of the party across the country.
According to the statement, the exercise will begin at the grassroots level and progress through the various tiers of the party’s organisational structure. The process will start with polling unit and ward congresses before moving to the local government and state levels.
The party explained that the congresses are designed to strengthen internal democratic practices and reposition the organisation for upcoming political activities.
Under the timetable approved by the party leadership, the polling unit and ward congresses will take place on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.
This will be followed by the local government area congresses scheduled for Thursday, April 9, 2026, while state congresses will hold on Saturday, April 11, 2026.
The process will culminate in the party’s National Convention, which has been fixed for Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
The ADC called on its members nationwide to actively participate in the exercise to ensure a transparent and smooth process.
