Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has congratulated the immediate past governor of the state, Okezie Ikpeazu, following his appointment as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain.
In a goodwill message issued on behalf of the governor, his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma, described the appointment as a significant opportunity for the former governor to serve the country at the diplomatic level.
Governor Otti noted that Ikpeazu’s new role would allow him to represent Nigeria’s interests abroad while promoting stronger bilateral relations with Spain. He also expressed confidence that the former governor would effectively safeguard the welfare and interests of Nigerians living in the European country.
The Abia governor further commended Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the appointment, describing it as a recognition of Ikpeazu’s experience in public service.
Otti also urged the Federal Government to provide adequate support for Ikpeazu and other newly appointed ambassadors to enable them carry out their diplomatic responsibilities successfully.
On behalf of his family, the government and the people of Abia State, Otti wished the former governor a productive and impactful tenure as Nigeria’s envoy to Spain.
