Operatives of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LSNSA) have arrested a suspected burglar and recovered a locally fabricated firearm during an early morning security operation in the Ikorodu area of Lagos.

The arrest was carried out by officers attached to the Imota Command after residents reported suspicious movements around the Araromi neighbourhood. Authorities said the operation followed credible information provided by members of the community.

In a statement shared on the agency’s official social media platforms, LSNSA confirmed that the operation took place in the early hours of Friday, March 13, 2026, when officers responded to complaints from residents about unusual activity in the area.

The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Monday Enoch, was apprehended at about 4:22 a.m. during the operation.

According to the agency, the suspect reportedly admitted during questioning that he possessed two firearms. He later led operatives to an unfinished building in the Mosafejo area of Agbowa where a locally manufactured long gun was recovered.

Authorities said the firearm had been hidden in the uncompleted structure, which investigators believe may have been used as a temporary storage location.

Reacting to the arrest, the agency’s General Manager, Ifalade Oyekan, reaffirmed LSNSA’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with other security agencies to enhance public safety across the state.

The suspect and the recovered weapon have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force at the Imota Division for further investigation and possible prosecution.

Officials added that efforts are ongoing to recover the second firearm allegedly linked to the suspect, which was reportedly stolen from Ogun State.
