A model widely known online for having the “UK’s biggest lips” has dissolved much of her facial filler, revealing a more natural appearance for the first time in a decade.
The 28-year-old, who goes by the name Sofia Lips on social media and is based in Manchester, said the decision followed a serious health scare linked to cosmetic surgery. She previously revealed that she nearly died after complications from a breast procedure in Turkey, during which her body reportedly began leaking fluid due to an infection.
The incident prompted her to reconsider her appearance and cosmetic procedures. As a result, she recently underwent treatment to dissolve filler from her cheeks and jawline, which had significantly altered the shape of her face over the years.
Sofia said the change was so dramatic that even her phone’s facial recognition system no longer recognised her. According to her, the removal process cost around £2,000 and required a larger amount of dissolving solution than usual because of the volume of filler that had been injected previously.
Despite revealing her natural face, the model admitted she feels uncomfortable with the new look and has largely avoided leaving her home. She said she had become accustomed to her enhanced facial features, particularly her large cheeks, making the transition difficult.
However, she indicated that she may still return to cosmetic fillers in the future, although she plans to opt for a more subtle and balanced appearance rather than the dramatic look she previously had.
Her lips, which remain heavily enhanced, continue to attract attention both online and in public. Sofia says the size of her lips even affects everyday activities such as drinking, forcing her to rely on a straw.
The model, who claims to have spent more than £500,000 on cosmetic procedures overall, says public reactions to her appearance are mixed. While she faces criticism, she also receives significant attention and says her distinctive look has become part of her online identity.
