Popular Nigerian cleric, Jerry Eze, became visibly emotional during a church service as he recounted the story of a woman who played a life-changing role in his educational journey.
Speaking to his congregation, the pastor revealed that his academic dreams nearly ended while he was in Junior Secondary School 3. At the time, he said his mother had informed him that the family could not afford the fees required for him to proceed to senior secondary school.
Faced with the difficult reality, Eze explained that he had begun considering learning a vocational trade, including tailoring, as he believed it might be his only option for survival.
However, his life took an unexpected turn shortly after a church service. According to the pastor, a woman from the congregation approached him and explained that she and her husband felt spiritually moved to support his education.
What started as a simple gesture soon became a life-changing commitment. Eze disclosed that the couple not only paid his school fees but also supported him financially throughout his entire secondary school education and university years.
He added that their kindness went even further, as they welcomed him into their home and treated him like a member of their own family.
Reflecting on the moment, the cleric described the woman as someone who “saw tomorrow,” stressing that her generosity completely transformed the course of his life and opened doors he might never have imagined.
Eze also pointed out that the couple had no prior connection to him. They were not from his village or state, yet they chose to invest in his future after meeting him at church.
Filled with gratitude, the pastor said his story stands as a testimony of divine grace. He urged people not to underestimate anyone, noting that no one truly knows where greatness may eventually emerge.
